The Bayside Sharks Rugby Football Club seeks a passionate, experienced, and visionary Head Coach to lead our Senior Men’s program. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and competitive rugby environment with a proud history and strong community support.

Founded in 1988 through the merger of the Tsawwassen and Semiahmoo Old Boys rugby clubs, the Bayside Sharks Rugby Club has grown into a cornerstone of the BC rugby community. We are proud to host the largest mini and junior rugby programs in the province, alongside three competitive senior teams and a vibrant old boys’ squad. Located in the scenic South Surrey/White Rock area, our club boasts two international-size grass pitches, access to premium artificial turf, and a world-class clubhouse—a venue that has hosted everything from major rugby events.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead the Senior Men’s rugby team and coaching staff both on and off the field.
Develop and deliver structured, high-quality training sessions (Tuesdays and Thursdays).
Establish and guide individual and team development goals across the season.
Demonstrate strong leadership by creating a compelling vision, fostering buy-in, and driving performance.
Build and sustain strong, supportive relationships with players, coaches, and club staff.
Collaborate closely with the Club Executive, Director of Rugby, Senior Men’s Director, and Rugby Committee.
Assist the appointed Team Manager with off-field logistics and team operations as needed.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

NCCP Level 2 Certification is required; Level 3 is preferred.
Proven experience in coaching and leading rugby programs at a competitive level.
Strong understanding of relevant competition rules, codes of conduct, and rugby standards in BC.

POSITION DETAILS:

This is a seasonal role requiring availability from mid-August to early May.
Evening, weekend, and occasional holiday availability required for practices and match play.
Ongoing position – Head Coach, Senior Men’s Team (Continuing Contract).
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
Compensation will be discussed during the interview process.
