Responsibilities
As Men’s Rugby Assistant Coach, you will support the UWE Rugby Programme by:
- Delivering on pitch sessions in collaboration with the Head Coach, covering pre season, trials, training, BUCS fixtures and friendlies;
- Contributing to session plans that are progressive, appropriate, and focused on attacking play, backs, or rugby development provision;
- Maintaining accurate records of participants’ progress;
- Supporting the Student Club Committee to run the club effectively;
- Working with the UWE Men’s Rugby Coaching Team to deliver an effective programme;
- Actively recruiting players;
- Engaging with coach education opportunities at UWE, if desired;
- Attending the Coaches Induction at the start of the year (or watching the recording), reading the Coaches Handbook, and complying with UWE policies, procedures, and invoicing timescales;
- Providing a like for like replacement if you are unable to attend a session.
Qualifications
- Hold a UKCC L2 Rugby Coaching certificate or equivalent in the specified sport (UKCC Level 1 considered on a case by case basis);
- Have experience coaching sport sessions for the specified sport;
- Be able to provide £10m Public Liability and £5m Professional Indemnity Insurance (a waiver can be arranged for lower amounts in some cases).
