Description

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the development of student athletes within a competitive university sporting environment. Working with a dedicated club, you will lead high-quality coaching sessions, support player progression and help create a positive, inclusive and high-performing team culture.

  • Lead and deliver structured coaching sessions for club members of all abilities.
  • Work collaboratively with club captains and committee members to support club development and performance goals.
  • Create an engaging and inclusive environment that encourages participation and progression.
  • Act as a professional role model and ambassador for sportCHESTER.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Sport Development Team.
  • Adhere to the sportCHESTER Coaches’ Code of Conduct and University safeguarding requirements.
  • Complete a DBS check and University safeguarding training prior to commencing the role.

What We’re Looking For

  • A minimum Level 2 Coaching Qualification in Rugby League.
  • A Safeguarding and Protecting Children in Sport certificate.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Rugby League coaching and player development.
  • Experience of working with young adults.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong motivational and leadership abilities.
  • The ability to plan, develop and deliver effective coaching sessions.
  • The ability to work independently and use initiative.
  • Desirable: First Aid qualification.
  • Experience of playing or competing in Rugby League at club level or above.
