About the Role
Activate Learning is seeking an enthusiastic, ambitious and passionate rugby professional to lead our Boys Rugby Programme within the Activate Rugby Academy (ARA), our ACE programme for talented year old rugby players.
Working in partnership with Gloucester Rugby (Boys) and Ealing Trailfinders (Girls), the ARA combines academic study with elite rugby development. Our vision is to be the leading rugby academy in the country, where the growth of every individual comes before everything else.
As Boys Rugby Programme Lead, you will lead the day to day delivery of the boys’ programme. Working closely with coaching, academic, student support and residential colleagues, you will help create an outstanding learner experience and support young people to thrive both on and off the pitch.
This is a full time role based at Harcourt Hill Campus, Oxford. Shortlisting will be performed alongside our partners in Gloucester RFU.

The ideal candidate will bring strong coaching expertise, a commitment to safeguarding, and a genuine passion for developing young people. You will be an effective leader who can inspire high standards, build positive relationships and work collaboratively with learners, colleagues, parents and partners.
You will be highly organised, adaptable and learner centred, with the ability to balance the demands of a performance environment while ensuring every learner feels supported, challenged and valued.
Above all, you will share our belief that rugby can be transformational, helping young people develop confidence, resilience and ambition to succeed both within and beyond the game.
Responsibilities
Lead the day to day delivery of the boys’ rugby programme.
Collaborate with coaching, academic, student support and residential staff to deliver a holistic learner experience.
Ensure safeguarding and a positive culture within the academy.
Provide leadership and mentorship to staff and learners.
Qualifications and Experience
Relevant coaching experience and qualifications in rugby.
Strong organisational skills and adaptability in a performance environment.
Experience in working with young people and ability to support them academically and personally.
Must be able to obtain a DBS check at the appropriate level.
